Zurich Pride Festival – 9.-10. June 2017
The Christopher Street Day has been carried out in Zurich since 1994 to fight against discrimination and for the rights of homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals.
In 2009, Zurich was the host for Europride, and the annual event has been called the Zurich Pride Festival ever since. In addition to opening and closing parties, the program lasting several days includes many stage shows, concerts and events designed to promote discussions and let people get to know each other.
The festival grounds at the Kasernenareal (barracks area) are converted into a hot spot where not only members of the LGBT community are welcome, instead all heterosexuals also addressed. The highlight of every Zurich Pride Festivals is the parade.
